Rider Ice Hockey Skates Over Breast Cancer
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.- Rider’s Ice Hockey Team is supporting Breast Cancer the month of October by sporting Pink Jerseys. The first time they are unveiling their support is October 11, 2013 at the Loucks Ice Center at 8:30 pm against St. Joseph’s University.
The game is located at the Lawrenceville Preparatory High School, which will put a start to breast cancer awareness for the team. This Rider Ice Hockey tradition for associating with breast cancer awareness has been ongoing.
They usually wear the pink jerseys for one game a year. This upcoming season is the first time that they will be supporting the cause for an entire month.
“ My team and myself are very excited to be supporting such a great cause,” said junior defenseman Chris Burgert. Breast Cancer awareness month always takes place for the whole month of October, not many organizations continue to support it for this long.
As a celebration for the cause at the last home game the players pink jerseys will be auctioned off and all the proceeds will go to Breast Cancer awareness. This will take place at 8:30 pm at the home location against University of Maryland.
